Gillian Daines


Gillian is a Board Director of Forster Communications, a leading UK social change PR agency. With over fifteen years experience in the communications industry, Gillian specialises in developing brands and campaigns that aim to change people's lives for the better. She has worked extensively with young people across a range issues that affect them, from mental health to body confidence and healthy eating to disability rights. 

Jules Hillier


Jules is the Chief Executive of Pause, a charity that works with women who have had more than one child taken into care. Before this jules was Brook’s Deputy chief Executive Brook’s Deputy Chief Executive and was FPA’s Director of Communications, so has a lot of experience of sexual health policy, services, campaigns and education. Jules is a passionate supporter of young people’s rights and she is excited about the potential of Sexpression.

Jules also has experience of trustee or non-executive roles. She was on the board of an NHS foundation trust for 4 years has been on other charity trustee boards and is a school governor. She is clear about the role of a trustee and will be able to see a clear distinction between supporting and enabling the officers to achieve without being interfering!

Justin Hancock

Justin Hancock is a freelance sex educator. He works both online and offline with young people and adults and has over 15 years experience as a sex and relationships educator, trainer and consultant.

His award winning website is one of the leading sex education websites and also one of the most popular with thousands of hits per day. Aimed at over 14s (particularly those thinking of having sex for the first time) the site has gained much praise from people of all ages "I love how it encourages safe and pleasurable sex without a hint of bullshit."

He also works 'in real life' with young people, practitioners and adults delivering workshops, talks and training courses as well as working in schools.

Michelle is a communications professional who has worked on numerous media relations and public affairs campaigns spanning the corporate, public and charity sectors. She currently works in the communications team at the world's leading spirits company, Diageo. Outside of her professional career, Michelle has given pro bono communications advice to several charities and not for profit organisations including S.A.F.E and London Gay Pride. Throughout all her work Michelle has a strong focus on using strategic communications — both directed towards the media and political stakeholders – to deliver real results.

Michelle Lavipour

Andrew originally trained as a physical theatre performer, spending many years throwing himself around on stage. He has taught PSHE in schools across the country since 2000. His work with Equal Voice centred around creating a safe environment in which learners could express their feelings, resolve conflict and build self-esteem. This approach remains core to his work today, facilitating SRE sessions that are informative, enjoyable and comfortable to be in. Andrew now has his own SRE training company, having previously worked as a senior trainer with leading SRE resource provider CWP Resources Ltd. Here he trained hundreds of teachers, building confidence and modelling good practice. He also assisted in the writing of ‘Teaching SRE in Primary Schools’ which was awarded the PSHE association quality mark.

Andrew Pembrooke

A senior charity professional with 10 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector. Having worked in a range of NGO functions - particularly communications, fundraising and partnerships - I now specialise in operations and management. My specific areas of focus are financial management, strategic development, project delivery, relationship management, HR and governance.


I hold a First Class degree in Economic and Social History from the University of Bristol, an MA in Legal and Political Theory from UCL, and a CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting. I am Chair of Trustees for Sexpression:UK and on the Board of Trustees of S.A.F.E.

Sarah Kennedy

Matthew has been involved with Sexpression:UK for five years, originally joining our Cardiff branch in 2012.  He was elected to the National Committee in 2014 as Funding Coordinator and led the process to register Sexpression:UK with the Charity Commission.  This was successfully achieved in April 2016 and Matthew was subsequently asked to join the Board of Trustees.  Matthew is currently a final year medical student at Cardiff University and is a member of the Family Planning Association's Youth Advocacy Committee. He has previously spent two years as a Trustee of Cardiff University Students' Union so brings important knowledge of the Higher Education sector and Students' Union management to the Board.'
